The Elizabeth R. Smith Melanoma Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization that was founded to honor the life and memory of Elizabeth R. Petty Smith, the co-owner of Sun and Shade Garden Center in Lookout Valley (Chattanooga, TN) for 30 years. It is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga (www.cfgc.org) which services more than 300 community funds in the greater Chattanooga, Tennessee area. The Elizabeth R. Smith Melanoma Memorial Fund (“Elizabeth Melanoma Fund”) is a public charity and is qualified as an IRS 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. As such, all donations to the Elizabeth Melanoma Fund are tax-deductible as contributions to a charitable organization.
Elizabeth R. Petty Smith, 65, of the McDonald, Tennessee community went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2009, while surrounded by her family following a brief illness in a local hospital.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and customers.
